Momma’s Three Bean Chili – Oh so easy
1 Can Dark Kidney Beans – drained
1 Can Light Kidney Beans – drained
1 Can White Navy Beans – drained
1 Can of Chili Beans
1 Can diced tomatoes – drained
½ cup white onion, diced
1 tsp Olive oil
2 lbs ground burger (we use turkey burger)
1 can of vegetable juice or tomato juice
Tastefully Simple Wahoo Chili seasoning to taste.
Salt and Pepper to taste.
Shredded mozzarella for garnish
Pasta prepared per package instructions.
Sauté onions in the olive oil until they are soft and glossy, add the ground burger and brown it. When I brown my ground turkey I add about a teaspoon of salt and chili seasoning to it to make sure the meat itself is flavored. Turkey burger is one of those meats that can withstand heavy seasoning. Once your burger is completely browned add you beans. I love adding the three different kinds of beans because it adds to the overall appearance to my chili and we all know we eat with our eyes first. Next add the can of tomatoes and vegetable juice, be careful it will splatter if your heat is too high. Add your seasoning to your liking. We don’t like a chili that’s too spicy that the kids won’t eat it but it has a little kick in the end. Let simmer for 15-20 minutes. Prepare your favorite pasta while your chili is simmering and you’re all done. I love to add some shredded moz cheese to mine!
