I don’t know about you but I am ready to start sprucing up for spring. Even though there is still snow on the ground and more to come, my indoors is ready to be bright and cheerfully spring! I enjoy decorating my home but I also don’t want to spend a fortune doing so. I like to hit up the dollar store to grab some great pieces to bring spring time indoors while staying on a budget.
I updated my mantel decorations for $20 using items I found at the dollar store.
- I like to start with my blank canvas and remove all of the items in the area I am going to re-decorate.
- Then, I go through my house and collect any decorating items not currently being used and that are appropriate for the current season and fill my kitchen table.
- I add in my dollar store finds.
- From the dollar store I found all of these beautiful spring time flowers, a few small clear vases, brown glass beads and stones, a multi-colored pack of glass beads and stones, little farmhouse tins with a rooster and a pig on them and on clearance two copper colored votive holders! Score! for clearance!
My decorating go to is artificial flowers. I love them. I love that they don’t require any maintenance. I love that it’s one purchase and done. And I love that they don’t loose their shape and color. Artificial flowers are okay in my design book.
Ta-Da! This is the finished product with dollar store only items. But why stop there:
I added some St. Patrick’s day garland to make it a bit more festive…. I’m not done yet!
I combined the items I found at the dollar store and the items I found throughout my house to create three refreshed areas in my living room space including this beautifully spruced up for spring mantel.
