With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it’s one of my favorite holidays since meeting the Hubs, we sorta make it a big deal around our house, we decided to make a Valentine’s Day craft. I try to find crafts that all of my minis are able to do together when it’s “a family craft” so there’s no frustration on their part. So this is an easy peasy sunday afternoon “Mom I’m bored” Valentine’s Day craft.
So I went to my “closet of everything”, aka my “craft closet”, aka the “game closet”, aka the “coat closet” (I’m sure you get the picture) to gather supplies for our Valentine’s Day craft. I grabbedt some old party plates that were extra from a previous birthday party. I always keep party supplies, you never know when they will come in handy for crafts. I grabbed some washable paint, red construction paper, a pack of multi-color pack of construction paper and clothespins. One thing I hate when painting with my kids is having dirty paintbrushes and trying to clean them and the kids cups of water to clean their brushes spill, so nuts to it we use cotton balls and clothespins.
- Using a piece of construction paper folded in have and cut out a heart.
- Using that as your stencil tape that to the table over the red paper where your mini’s are going to paint. I used washi tape to tape the paper to the table so I wouldn’t ruin the table top and it was easy to peel up.
- Watch the minis paint their hearts and refill the paint plates as needed.
